Hair Care

Those with long hair probably already know how frustrating it can be when you’re washing your hair and end up with nothing but tangles. Long hair tends to be harder to maintain, and after shampooing ends up a complete tangled mess bringing tears to your eyes as you try and rip a brush throughout it. This is not only painful and uncomfortable, but extremely bad for your hair as well. Your hair will easily break when you’re trying to comb out tangles and there are too many to do the right way. This is why we need some sort of technique to prevent tangling and matting of the hair while we wash, so that when we brush it doesn’t bring tears to our eyes and doesn’t rip out our hair or cause breakage that is irreversible.

The best way to eliminate the endless tangles from washing your hair is through simple organization. I’m sure you’re wondering, how do you organize hair? It’s not as tricky as it sounds, basically you brush your hair before washing while it is dry, and part it into two or three sections (two on the side one in the back, for instance). After you’ve sectioned off your hair and you’re in the shower, let the water run throughout your hair while keeping it sectioned by smoothing each section. Then as you apply the shampoo, add some into your palm and rub your hands together, then follow by applying it from root to tip one section at a time, this way you don’t rub your hair together or cause unnecessary friction.

Then after you’re finished, when towel trying your hair squeeze each section of hair with the towel thoroughly and pat the roots, don’t rub or shake hair before brushing this can cause additional tangling. After your hair is towel dried, simply brush your hair as you normally would. If there is any tangling or difficulty, don’t force it. Simply start from the bottom and work your way up with the brush.
